The senior-friendly LUISE reclining bench is the result of a development study with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and was developed specifically for the requirements of urban areas. With its user-friendly design, particular emphasis was placed on the needs of older people. The angled knee bar, ergonomic backrest, armrests and an adapted seat height of 460 mm ensure a high level of seating comfort even for older people.
The basic construction made of hot-dip galvanized steel with a powder coating of your choice ensures stability and a clear design language. The simple and robust design and the high level of seating comfort combine form and function and create modern spaces with a high quality of stay. Over the years, the LUISE backrest bench has proven to be an extremely popular and timeless bench model that has already become a feature of the cityscape in many places.
The new edition of the classic under the slogan “LUISE meets Kebony” now lets the bench shine with the Norwegian wood innovation and combines long-proven design with pioneering wood technology.
Kebony is a natural wood product that is created in an environmentally friendly wood modification process and permanently improves the properties of FSC-certified Pinus Radiata. Treatment with a biological liquid strengthens the cell walls of the wood around the core and creates increased dimensional stability. Kebony thus achieves a particularly high Brinell hardness (N / mm, EN 1534) of 41 and is resistant to moisture, fungal and pest infestation. This increases the durability (durability class 1) and gives the wood an extremely long service life. The process does not require any chemical impregnation and is therefore non-toxic for humans, animals and the environment.
The Scandinavian Nordic Swan Ecolabel and FSC certification guarantee the sustainability and ecological forestry of the modified wood. Kebony is extremely easy to care for, requires no additional surface treatment, does not need any chemical wood preservatives and impresses with its low life cycle costs. Thanks to its durability and minimal care and maintenance requirements, the modified wood is ideally suited for use in public spaces. The new edition of the LUISE backrest bench is therefore all the more resistant to wind, weather and the effects of time, bringing many years of pleasure to local authorities, cities and their residents.
