“Gartenstadt Drewitz - energetically strong, energetically green” is an urban development concept developed by the municipal housing company ProPotsdam GmbH for the urban and energetic renewal of the Potsdam district of Drewitz. For a long time, a four-lane main road ran through the middle of the residential area, which severely restricted the quality of life for residents. In order to strengthen the district, the landscape architecture firm Pia von Zadow developed a concept to make the district greener and more liveable and to create an attractive living environment for the residents. At the heart of the urban development concept is the transformation of the street space into Konrad Wolf Park, in the design of which local residents and stakeholders were involved. This created a new, largely barrier-free center of the settlement with different leisure and recreational qualities.

In the context of this development measure, the PIA reclining bench and the associated furnishing elements were developed in close consultation with the planners. The PIA Lehnenbank impresses with its modern and functional design. The robust basic construction made of powder-coated cast aluminum ensures stability and lends the bench a dynamic lightness thanks to its three-dimensional shape.

Im Zusammenspiel mit dem dazugehörigen Freiraummobiliar – den Fahrradanlehnbügeln, Rabattengeländern und Pollern – wird dem neuen Stadtraum eine einheitliche Identität verliehen. So ist aus der ehemaligen Hauptverkehrsstraße ein zentraler Wohngebietspark mit hoher Aufenthaltsqualität für alle Generationen entstanden; ein Ort der Gemeinschaft, Freizeit und Nachbarschaft.
