A modern design concept was developed for the extension and redesign of the school complex at the Jagdfeld elementary school in Haar, redefining the schoolyard and the roof of the new sports hall as versatile exercise and recreation areas. The schoolyard was designed to be open in order to create generous exercise areas for the children and at the same time integrate communicative places for relaxation and events.
In close consultation with the planners from Hackl Hofmann Landschaftsarchitekten, we designed and manufactured various seating platforms that allow for different uses and create a high quality of stay. For example, a spacious seating and sunbathing platform was created for the front part of the schoolyard, which invites people to linger during the lunch break and can also be used as a small stage for events. The roof of the sports hall serves as an extended break area with green areas and seating objects. The rectangular seating platforms created for this purpose not only invite people to relax, but can also be used for outdoor lessons.
The shape and size of the seating platforms are adapted to the design concept and requirements and are characterized by their robust basic construction made of stainless steel and the high-quality wooden slats made of FSC-certified hardwood. The redesign of the school grounds has created a modern learning, exercise and recreation area that can be used in a variety of ways and offers children and teachers an inspiring learning environment.
